10OutOf10Promos: Your music spans a
range of emotions and vibes, as seen in "Moods the Mixtape 2.0." What inspires the diversity in your sound?
Shanny Allure: I love all music. I grew up.
listening to different genres and expanded that in my teens and adulthood.
My 2nd and 3rd projects are called Moods because I write and create based upon the mood I'm in, at that very moment. That's also how I switch genres so easily. ADHD helps too lol. I always joke and tell people "I switch genres so vastly because of my mental illness" hahah.
10OutOfI0Promos: How do you balance being "The Party Princess" and "The Rhyme Slayer"?
Shanny Allure: The party princess is my soft.
life, spoiled side so she creates my soft tempo or kind of cutesy, catchy vibes while the rhyme slayer is more of my freestyler. She comes out when I get mad, frustrated or overwhelmed.
Neither are to be played with lol.
10OutOfI0Promos: Your single "Distraction"
has received positive feedback. What was the creative process behind that song?
Shanny Allure: So the producer is Roc Blanco. We met networking through social media. We talked and instantly connected. He sent me a beat pack and that was, I think the second or third beat I played. I knew it was the one. From there, the hook came then first verse. I sent it to him, he loved it. I added my second verse. And from there, I recorded with my engineer Montie. He did his magic and now we have such a beautiful single.
10OutOf10Promos: As an artist with acting
credits in "5 Steps Back," how do acting and music complement each other in your career?
Shanny Allure: Well that show has been in
Production for a couple of years now so I am waiting like the fans to see the final product. It was a great experience for me and I'm very happy to be apart of it. Acting and music are pretty separate for me although most film directors find me because of my music.
This show will be on prime video, tubi and others alike. I want to say thank you to the film director, LaMyra for seler me to play a + detective in this Juction.
10OutOfI0Promos: Who are your biggest
influences in music, and how have they shaped your artistry?
Shanny Allure: My biggest influence will
always be my big brother, CJ. He's been doing music since I was little and watching him in the studio inspired me so much. Although, he's ventured out into other businesses, music is and always will be his core. He's my biggest fan and I'm his. As far as industry, my biggest male influences would be Michael Jackson, Lil Wayne, and Eminem. As far as female, Lil Kim and Missy Elliot are at the top for me. Those were the women I seen on my tv screen growing up. Although, others hate to give them their props, I will always show them mad love for their contributions to female rap, fashion, and creativity.
10OutOf10Promos: What was the turning
point in your life when you decided to pursue music as a career?
Shanny Allure: I started taking music seriously when I realized that 1, I'm great at it. It comes very easy and natural to me. It makes me feel good to see others enjoy my creations.
And 2, music also saved my life. I went through a very hard period in my life and out of that came the #mentalhealthseries. That is my most meaningful group of music. Songs in that serious would be "Take It Away", "Demons", "Mood Swings", "Why So Serious?" And "Solo Cup Ready". Cup Ready".
10OutOf10Promos: How has your personal growth influenced the evolution of your music over the years?
Shanny Allure: I'd say, with my experiences the music grows. My subject matter changes based upon what I'm going through at the time and being that my life hasn't been a walk in the park, it creates great and colorful music. I'm thankful for the good, the bad, and the ugly because my art LIVES off of it.
10OutOfI0Promos: Being active on social
media, how do you stay authentic while connecting with your fans?
Shanny Allure: I'm just me on and offline. I
my don't really interact any differently than when I wasn't doing music. I've been in entertainment before that with modeling so I've always carried myself professional but authentic at the same time. You'd have to be an OG looney to understand lol.
10OutOfI0Promos: What has been the most rewarding experience in your career so far?
Shanny Allure: I have 3, my first centerfold in Succoso magazine was a pinnacle for me. Then going to Powered ByVirginia radio station in Hampton, Virginia and freestyling on air was amazing. Also, Performing for my mom, family, and hometown at her birthday party was so great for me because my mom has never seen me perform before. My brother handing me the mic was like passing the torch and it was magical.
10OutOfI0Promos: How do you navigate the
Challenges of being a female artist in the music industry?
Shanny Allure: At first, I think I was too friendly and trusting. I learned fast that this industry really doesn't love anyone. It will chew you up and spit you out if you are not grounded, If you don't already know who you are without the validation of others and If you are easily distracted. My confidence may come as arrogance sometimes but that is because I knew who I was before I ever introduced my talents to the world.
10OutOfI0Promos: You've worked across
different creative outlets like acting and music. Do you have any plans to explore new avenues, like directing or producing?
Shanny Allure: I am actually in school
getting my bachelors in music production. I started school in December 2023. I'm learning all there is to learn so that I am as self sufficient as possible and I will be able to
pass along my knowledge while creating beautiful vibes for others. As far as acting, I have some film directors very interested in working with me in 2025 so I'm excited to see where this goes
10OutOf10Promos: What advice would you
give to young women aspiring to follow in your footsteps?
Shanny Allure: I would say, don't do something if it's not in you. If it's not your passion, If you don't believe in it. If you are too afraid of what others say or think about you, this is not your lane. If you don't believe you're the best at whatever it is you do, this is not your lane. Music is not a trend because trends die. Music is a lifestyle. Music is not a get rich quick scheme so if you don't enjoy the journey, you're not going to last. Find what it is that you love and go for it.
10OutOfI0Promos: Can you give us any hints about upcoming projects or collaborations?
Shanny Allure: I can say this year, we dominate
the clubs. We get people dancing again. This is the year I have the backing of people | 36 didn't have before so it's gonna be a big year.
