From experimenting with early versions of Fruity Loops to performing across the United States and internationally, Frankie French has built his sound around versatility, passion, and consistency. In this 2021 interview, he reflects on his beginnings, inspirations, creative process, and what’s next.
10OutOf10Promos: What first got you into music?
Frankie French: In 2007, a friend of mine introduced me to a software called Fruity Loops. At the time it was version three, but I believe version seven was already out. He said we should make some Juke tracks, and I gave it a try. I guess I fell in love with it because I continued to play with the program and got better as time went on.
Around that time, some of my friends were DJs, and they used to showcase their tracks while playing at parties. I liked the idea and wanted to do the same thing.
10OutOf10Promos: Who inspired you to make music?
Frankie French: My friend Von. DJs Royal and Larry.
10OutOf10Promos: How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Frankie French: Versatile. A mixture of different genres. Hip-hop and Juke are my primary genres.
10OutOf10Promos: What is your creative process like?
Frankie French: Making sure I’m well fed. Sometimes I’ll watch some YouTube, get inspired, and then create.
10OutOf10Promos: Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Frankie French: Money Man. Polo G. David Guetta. Martin Garrix. Nicky Romero. Tiësto.
Jay Hardway. Many others, but those are some of my favorites.

10OutOf10Promos: What is the most useless talent you have?
Frankie French: I don’t think I have any, haha.
10OutOf10Promos: Do you sing in the shower? What songs?
Frankie French: Nope. I think about music though.
10OutOf10Promos: What would you be doing right now if it wasn’t for your music career?
Frankie French: Not sure. Maybe I’d be heavier into health and fitness.
10OutOf10Promos: Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
Frankie French: I’ve performed in many states across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.
My least favorite venues are the ones with bad sound systems.
My favorite spots are in Chicago.
Right now, I’m working on shows in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
10OutOf10Promos: How do you feel the internet has impacted the music business?
Frankie French: It’s a very big part. It’s one of the main reasons why I’m known in many different places. People listen to my music from all over, and they’ve never been around me a day in their lives.
10OutOf10Promos: What is your favorite song to perform?
